Patient:
Dentate or Partially Edentulous
Allure Dental Studio will provide you with the final restoration of your choice, and the Allure Precision Fit Kit.
To protect your implants, make sure that the fit of the appliance is passive and the occlusion well balanced.
Remind the patient that their new teeth are not indestructible and require regular maintenance appointments at least once a year.
All our ceramic restorations require a maximum of 4 appointments, so please follow the instructions below, regardless of your restoration choice.
It may be possible to go straight to the final prosthesis delivery following the first restorative appointment. This option needs to be discussed on individual case basis after a thorough review of the case.
Appointment One
Prior to Removing the Temporary PMMA
Check that the implants are fully integrated and that they are ready to start the restorative steps.
Ask your patient if they are pleased with their PMMA temporary or if they would like to see any changes.
Record any changes in detail on the prescription, and take pictures to help with any explanations.
Take a bite record prior to removing the temporary.
Take an impression or scan of the antagonist.
Recording the VDO
Prior to removing the temporary PMMA from the patient’s mouth, record the VDO of your patient with dots and ruler or better yet, utilizing the VDO gauge.
Once the VDO record is taken, remove the temporary from the patient’s mouth.
Positioning and Luting the VOS Appliance
Torque all the abutments to the manufacturer recommendation.
Place the pre-cut VOS appliance in the patient’s mouth.
The appliance is pre-cut but not all the way for ease of placement. Once the appliance is in position onto the implants cut through the rest of the appliance for passive fit with a high-speed.
Torque each screw making sure that the pieces do not rotate during torquing following the manufacturer torque recommendation.
Once each of the VOS segments have been placed and screws have been torqued the VOS guide can be luted together. Start with connecting each posterior section first with composite. If you are using GC pattern let it set according tothe manufacturer recommendation. Finish with connecting the anterior section. By following this pattern, you will reduce shrinkage.
We recommend not to use Duralay as it is not stable enough and has tendency to lose its accuracy with time.
After luting is completed check the VDO, and the bite.
Adjust as needed until you feel that the occlusion is perfect and well balanced.
Verify that the VDO matches the position acquired at the beginning of the appointment.
Soft Tissue Reline
Once done with the occlusion, switch your focus on capturing an accurate soft tissue.
With the help of a thin pre-cut tip, flow light body in between the intaglio of the VOS appliance and the patient’s tissue. Make sure not to create any voids.
Capture all of the patient’s ridge making sure that the impression material flows in the pre-cut undercuts on the VOS appliance. The undercuts will guarantee that the material is locked in securely.
Keep impression material away from each screw access channel.
Once the impression material is set, unscrew, and remove the VOS appliance from the patient’s mouth.
Visually inspect the intaglio of the VOS appliance making sure that you have a good adaptation of the patient’s ridge without any voids.
Replace the PMMA temporary in the patient’s mouth and hand torque each screw.
Plug the holes with Teflon and impression material.
Call Allure Dental Studio for a pick-up.
Ship the VOS appliance, the bite, the antagonist and a well filled-out Rx.
Scanning the VOS appliance
You can scan the appliance with your Intra-Oral scanner, but we prefer that you mail us the VOS appliance to avoid any discrepancies.
